Data we collect, and why

Your photos

They are opened, cropped and saved on your computer. No photo, file name, folder name or anything worked out from your pictures is ever sent to us or to anyone else.

Your account (Premium and the free trial)

To start the trial or use Premium you create an account by giving your email address. You sign in with a 6-digit code we email you, so there is no password. For your account we keep:

• your email address;
• for each computer you sign in on: the name Windows gives it, when it was signed in, when it last checked in, and a scrambled form of its sign-in token (never the token itself);
• your subscription as Lemon Squeezy reports it: the plan, its status, its trial, renewal and end dates, whether a payment failed or was refunded, the billing email if it differs from your sign-in email, and the other subscription details Lemon Squeezy sends with it, such as the name on the order and the type and last four digits of the card;
• sign-in codes, kept only in scrambled form and deleted within a week, together with the internet address each was requested from, which we keep for that week to stop abuse.

We use these only to let your copies of CropNimble know whether Premium is active, to send the emails below, and to answer you when you write to us.

What the app sends

A signed-in copy contacts cropnimble.com when it starts, from time to time while it runs, and when you press Refresh. It sends its sign-in token and the app's version number, and receives the state of your subscription. A copy that is not signed in sends nothing about you. Nothing is ever sent about your photos.

Emails

We email you a sign-in code when you ask for one, and two reminders before a free trial ends. They are sent through Resend, an email delivery service, which handles your address only to deliver them. We do not send marketing emails to your account's address.

Payments

Subscriptions are sold by our merchant of record, Lemon Squeezy, which collects your name, email address, billing country and payment details, charges you and issues your receipts. We never see your card number.

Updates list (website)

If you join the updates list, we store your email address and the date you gave it, in a file on our web server that is not publicly reachable. We use it to send one email when a new version of CropNimble is released, and to answer if you reply. Email [email protected], or reply "stop" to any message, to be removed at any time.

Cookies and tracking

The website sets no cookies and loads nothing from third-party servers. There are no ad or analytics scripts. Our web host and Cloudflare, which carries traffic to cropnimble.com, keep ordinary access logs (internet address, browser type, pages requested), which we use only to keep the site running and safe.

Update check

When the app starts (unless you switch off automatic update checks in Settings), and when you click Check for updates, the app fetches a small version file from cropnimble.com. That request contains no personal data beyond what any web request carries (your internet address and the app name), and it appears only in access logs.

Version-1 licence keys

A version-1 key is checked on your own computer, with no connection to us. A key issued by name carries the buyer's name and email inside it, stored only on your machine. We keep the records of version-1 orders (email, country, amount, order number) for as long as tax and accounting rules require.

How long we keep it

Account data is kept while you have an account. Write to [email protected] and we will delete your account and everything in it, apart from what tax and accounting rules require us to keep; your payment records stay with Lemon Squeezy under its own policy.

Who else sees it

We do not sell or share personal data with anyone other than Lemon Squeezy (payments), Resend (email delivery), our web host and Cloudflare (carrying the site's traffic), and never for advertising.
